Women's Lacrosse Drops Game at California

Berkeley, CA - The Saint Mary's women's lacrosse team suffered a 19-7 loss on Thursday afternoon to California at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, CA. With the loss the Gaels fall to 3-7 overall and 1-4 in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play.

The Gaels fell behind early in the first half, but played well in the second half, keeping with the Golden Bears and losing the final 30 minutes 6-5.

Offensively the Gaels were led by junior Kim Reny, who scored four goals. Reny now leads the Gaels on the season with 25 goals and 31 points total.

Saint Mary's received one goal from Maddie Marsh, Molly Wagner and Dana Elfvin and Chloe Dee and Sonja Kapusta each added an assist.

California was led by Leanne Zilioli and Liz Reifsnyder, who each scored four goals. Laura Cavallo and Jocelyn Paul each recorded three goals in the win. The Golden Bears improved to 5-7 and 2-1 in MPSF play.

The Gaels return to action on Tuesday, April 11 when they face LeMoyne at 11 a.m.
