Women's Lacrosse Suffers Set Back at LeMoyne

Syracuse, NY - The Saint Mary's women's lacrosse team suffered an 18-7 loss on Tuesday afternoon against LeMoyne University in Syracuse, NY. With the loss the Gaels begin their three-game East Coast trip with an 0-1 record.

Saint Mary's will face Sienna on Wednesday and Marist on Thursday to conclude its road trip. With the loss the Gaels fall to 3-8 on the season.

On Tuesday, Saint Mary's was led by Jen Utley, who led the Gaels with 3 goals. Utley has now recorded 11 goals on the season.

The Gaels were also led by Chloe Dee, Maddie Marsh, Alex Oetken and P.J. Hainley, who each recorded one goal. Dee and Kim Reny also contributed with one assist each.

Sara Jo Rodriguez started in goal for the Gaels and picked up the loss, but recorded six saves in the game. Hilary Gardner replaced Rodriguez and recorded one goal.

To open the game the Gaels jumped in front 3-1, but LeMoyne scored the next nine goals to end the first half with a 10-3 lead.

The Gaels will face Sienna at 4 p.m. EST on Wednesday, April 12.
