Women's Lacrosse Drops Second Game

Loudonville, NY - The Saint Mary's women's lacrosse team lost their second game on their three-game East Coast road trip, falling to Siena 15-14 on Wednesday afternoon in Loudonville, NY. The Gaels finish their road trip on Thursday when they face Marist.

The Gaels rallied from two goals down and tied the game 14-14 after P.J. Hainley scored back-to-back goals. But Siena's Lindsey Rosecrans scored the game-winning goal with 1:49 left in the game to give the Saints the victory.

Saint Mary's played a solid first half, jumping in front 9-6, but the Saints rallied for nine goals in the second half for the victory.

Offensively the Gaels were led by P.J. Hainley and Chloe Dee. Hainley scored four goals and Dee scored two goals and added three assists for five points.

Saint Mary's also received three goals from Dana Elfvin and two goals from Molly Wagner. Kim Reny added one goal and one assist, Jen Utley had one goal and two assists and Sonja Kapusta added one goal.

Freshman Hilary Parker started in goal for the Gaels and recorded one save. Sara Jo Rodriguez replaced Parker and recorded two saves but picked up the loss.

Saint Mary's will face the Saints at 4 p.m. EST on Thursday, April 13.
