Women's Lacrosse Drops Final Home Game

Moraga, CA - On senior day at Saint Mary's Stadium the women's lacrosse team fell to visiting UC Davis 14-5 in the final home game of the season for the Gaels on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss the Gaels end the regular season with a 4-12 mark heading into the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation playoffs beginning Friday, May 5 in Eugene, OR. Saint Mary's holds a 1-4 MPSF record. UC Davis improved to 8-8 overall, but holds a 0-5 MPSF record.

Saint Mary's jumped on the board first on Saturday afternoon, but UC Davis scored four unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead and it never looked back.

The Gaels were led offensively by Kim Reny, who scored two goals and finished the regular season leading the Gaels with 41 goals and 50 points.

Chloe Dee, Alex Oetken and Molly Wagner each scored one goal to round out the scoring.

Wagner, along with Jenny Levesque and Whitney Pappas were all playing in their final home game in a Saint Mary's uniform.

Sara Jo Rodriguez recorded nine saves in the game, including six in the first half as she played 60 minutes in net.

UC Davis was led by Patrice Clark, who scored three goals and Katie McGovern, Katie McMahon and Tiffany Lee each recorded two goals.
