Women's Lacrosse Returns to Action on Saturday

This Week in Women's Lacrosse: The Saint Mary's women's lacrosse team will play in their first conference game of the 2006 season against the UC Davis Aggies on Saturday afternoon. The game between the Gaels and Aggies is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. in Davis, CA. The Aggies enter the game with a 1-0 record after defeating the Robert Morris Colonials 21-3 on Feb. 12.

Scouting the Aggies: UC Davis opened their season with a 21-3 victory against Robert Morris. Eight players recorded goals against the Colonials. Junior, Katie McMahon led the charge with 13 points on eight goals and five assists. Helping add to the victory was Megan O'Connor who tallied eights points on four goals and four assists.

Making an Early Impact: Saint Mary's opened the season with a 16-15 victory over the Robert Morris Colonials. The Gaels were helped by several of the Gael newcomers. Among those who tallied points in their first game in a Gael uniform were Dana Elfvin, Chloe Dee and Kim Reny, who scored the game-winner with 1:47 left in the game on an unassisted goal. Freshmen Goalkeeper Hillary Gardner notched her first victory of her career adding five saves in over 56 minutes of play.

Next Week for the Gaels: After Saturdays match with UC Davis, the Gaels enjoy some time off. They return to play March 3 in Eugene, OR to face the Oregon University Ducks.
