This Week in Lacrosse: The Saint Mary's lacrosse team will hit the road to play in two games this week. On Friday, April 21 the Gaels will head to Farmville, VA to face the Longwood University Lancers at 4:00 pm EST. The Gaels will then head to Davidson, NC to face the Davidson University Wildcats on Saturday, April 22 at 2:00 pm EST.
Scouting the Lancers: Longwood University comes into Friday's game with a record of 4-9 and a home record of 3-4. Longwood will be coming off a 15-13 victory against Virginia Tech. In this game the Lancers were led by senior midfielder Emily Bikowski who scored a game high five goals. Nine different Lancers tallied goals in the victory. On the season the Lancers are led by junior midfielder Cathleen Strain who leads the team in both points and goals with 27 and 22 respectively.
Scouting the Wildcats: Davidson University will enter Saturday's game with a record of 8-5 and a home record of 4-1. The Wildcats are coming off of a 9-6 win against Lafayette University. In this game senior goalkeeper Leslie Smith set a school record with 25 saves. On the season the Wildcats are lead by senior attacker Eloise Gross. She has totaled 44 points on 34 goals and 10 assists. Sarah Walker, Kiften Stephens and Callie Seymour have each added 30 or more points on the season for the Wildcats.
Week in Review: The Gaels played in three matches last week posting a record of 1-2. Saint Mary's began the trip with an 18-7 loss to LeMoyne University. The Gaels then lost a close 15-14 match against Sienna College. The Gaels then out-dueled Marist College 15-13. With the game tied in the final minutes the Gaels scored the final two goals to pull out the victory.
On The Road Again: The Gaels will close up their five-game road trip this week competing in two matches. These two games will be the final road games for Saint Mary's this season. The Gaels are looking use their momentum they gained in their first three games in these final two.
Who's Hot: Freshman midfielder P.J. Hainley is coming off an impressive week. She tallied five goals on the weekend including a team leading four goals against Sienna College. On the season Hainley has recorded 14 points on 10 goals.
Looking Forward: The Gaels return home after their five game road trip. The Gaels will face UC Davis. This match against the Aggies will be the Gaels final game of the regular season. The match is slated to being at 1:00pm on Saturday April, 29 from Saint Mary's Stadium.
