Women's Crew Finishes Third at Head of the American

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Gonzaga University women's rowing Varsity 8+ placed third at the Head of American race that took place in Lake Natoma in Sacramento, Calif., Saturday afternoon. The race, which was hosted by Sacramento State University, was a three-mile course with a time trial start format. The University of California Gold won the race in a time of 17:40, followed by University of California Blue at 17:50 and Gonzaga two-seconds behind at 17:52.

The Bulldog Varsity 8+ consisted of Coxswain Joan Aubry, Kelly Steinhaus, Kelsey Koenig, Liz Moore, Hanna McClintock, Cory Nelson, Stephanie Murphy, Katie Atkins, Julie Smetana.

Gonzaga's men and women will be at the Head of the Lake at the Montlake Cut in Seattle on Nov. 11.
