SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's varsity crew team travels to New Jersey this weekend to compete in the 9th annual Knecht Cup hosted by Villanova University on the Cooper River in Camden. This is the third-straight appearance in the Knecht Cup for the Bulldogs. The Zags varsity 8+ finished second in the grand final at last year's event behind defending champion University of Massachusetts.

Gonzaga will compete in both the varsity 4+ and the varsity 8+. The varsity 4+ will compete in the fifth and final heat race on Saturday morning grouped with Boston College, Lafayette, Penn State, Holy Cross and the University of North Carolina.

The varsity 8+ will race in the first of five heats late Saturday morning. The Bulldogs are grouped with the University of Connecticut, Colgate, George Mason and Delaware.

The top three boats from each heat race advance to the Saturday afternoon semifinals which will be used to determine competitors in Sunday's final races for each event.
