Los Angeles, CA (Apr. 13, 2006) -- Loyola Marymount University freshman Hillaree Bennett of women's softball and the Varsity 8 team from men's crew were named the LMU/Enterprise Rent-A-Car Student-Athletes of the Month for March.

Undefeated in March, beating five opponents... Won the Parker Cup for the first time since 2002, defeating UC Irvine and San Diego State by 13 seconds... Won the Guy Lunburg Trophy for the first time in five years, beating UCLA by 13 seconds... Went undefeated at the WCC Challenge, beating San Diego and Santa Clara by approximately 20 seconds each.
Hit .385 to lead the team to a 13-8 record in March.... Hit 6 home runs and two doubles with 15 RBI ... Hit a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh to give the Lions a 2-1 win over #25 Fresno State... Had a .769 slugging percentage and a .543 on base percentage... Also scored 16 runs and had 16 walks (second most on the team was 5, and four of the walks were intentional)... Stole 2 bases and had a sacrifice hit... Was a perfect 3-for-3 with two home runs, four RBI and two runs in LMU's first ever game at Smith Field... In the doubleheader against Quinnipiac, was a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, four runs, two home runs and three walks... Named PCSC Player of the Week on March 20th for the second time this season... Recorded five multi-hit games, and four multi-RBI games... Scored the game winning run in LMU's 3-2 win in game one over Radford, and drove in the game winning run in LMU's 1-0 win in game two over Radford.... had a seven game hitting streak... for the season, she is batting .398 with 10 home runs, the most ever by a freshman and the 4th highest in school history.
Each month during the academic calendar, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) will chose a male and female Enterprise Rent - A - Car student-athlete of the month whose performance best represents the traditions of Loyola Marymount University.
