LOS ANGELES - Former Loyola Marymount University crew standout Warren Anderson (2003-06) turned heads at the USRowing Elite National Championships in New Jersey on June 23. Anderson's boat won the men's quad just hours after he finished second in the men's single. Anderson and his teammates from the winning men's quad will now represent USRowing at the 2007 Pan American Games held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, July 14-19.
Anderson and his teammates from around the nation won the men's quad at the USRowing Elite National Championships with a time of 5:49.23. That team will next compete at the Pan American Games. The rowing competition will be held July 14-19 at the Lagoa Rowing Center in Rio de Janeiro. Heats and repechages, or second-chance races, will be held July 14-16, with finals being held July 17-19. The U.S. will be competing in all 13 events at the games.

In addition to his first place finish in the men's quad at the Elite National Championships, Anderson took second in the men's single with a time of 7:02.16. Anderson, who has only been sculling for the last two years, finished second only to Olympian Jamie Schroeder, who was also named to the Pan American Games roster.
