Pan American Games Open in Brazil with Lion Warren Anderson Representing USRowing

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - With the 2007 Pan American Games underway in Brazil, Loyola Marymount crew alumnus Warren Anderson prepares for the rowing competition, which begins Saturday. Anderson, who starred for the Lions from 2003-06, will represent the Red, White, and Blue at the games.

Anderson turned heads at the USRowing Elite National Championships in New Jersey on June 23 when his boat won the men's quad just hours after he finished second in the men's single.Anderson and his teammates from around the nation won the men's quad at the USRowing Elite National Championships with a time of 5:49.23 to advance to the Pan American Games.

The Pan American Games rowing competition will be held July 14-19 at the Lagoa Rowing Center in Rio de Janeiro. Heats and repechages, or second-chance races, will be held July 14-16, with finals being held July 17-19. The U.S. will be competing in all 13 events at the games.

After his competition in the Pan American Games, Anderson will return to Princeton, N.J. to begin competing for a spot at the World Rowing Championships that are to be held in Munich, Germany.
