LMU Crew is Looking for Walk-On Athletes

LMU's men's, women's and lightweight women's crew teams are looking for individuals interested in being varsity athletes. No prior rowing experience is required. Our First recruiting meeting will be held on September 5th at 7:30 for women and 8:30 for men in U-Hall 1000.

Rowing at LMU relies heavily on the talent of walk-on athletes. We are looking for individuals who enjoy being athletes and who want to commit to being part of a Division I team. By joining LMU Crew you will get the opportunity to travel and compete against the best schools in the nation. Moreover you will compete at a Division I level against teams such as CAL, Washington, USC, UCLA, and so on. A love of athletics, a passion for competition, and a willingness to learn a new sport is all that is required to become a member of the rowing program.

Did you play a sport in high school? Do you enjoy participating in sports and being surrounded by like minded people? Then LMU rowing is where you belong. We are looking for several categories of athletes.

Thanks to talented and dedicated students like you, LMU crew has had a surge of recent success. The women's team won its first-ever West Coast Conference championship in 2006 and finished second in 2007. The women's lightweight quad and eight boats, along with the men's pair, also claimed gold medals at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association finals in 2007.

Height is an asset in rowing, but we would love to meet with top athletes of any size. Positive attitude, strong work ethic and love of sport are required!

The Men's Team - looking for rowers 6'0" and taller, coxswains (can be men or women) 130lbs or lighter

The Women's Team - looking for women 5'7 and taller, coxswains should be 110 lbs. or lighter

The Lwt. Women's Team - looking for women 130 lbs or lighter
