Torero Women's Rowing Recruits Walk-Ons

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - University of San Diego women's novice rowing Coach, Amelia White, is currently recruiting walk-ons for the 2006-2007 Novice squad. Women's Rowing at USD is the largest women's NCAA Division I sport, made up primarily of walk-on student-athletes, which means joining the squad with no rowing experience prior to coming to USD!

The team is highly competitive as part of the West Coast Conference and also finds success in the classroom with the highest women's team GPA in the fall of 2005 as well as two national scholar athlete award recipients.

Torero Women's Rowing is one large team, made up of a Varsity squad and Novice squad. Walk-ons begin rowing their first season on the Torero novice squad, train and compete against other collegiate novice teams through out the season.

The novice squad will begin training on September 26, 2006. The current walk-on recruiting period provides necessary information and instruction for students in order to begin training with the team on September 26, 2006.
