LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Coming off his senior year as co-captain of the LMU men's rowing team, Adam Baker has been named the new coach of the men's novice crew at Loyola Marymount University. As a four year member of the varsity squad at LMU, Baker brings a wealth of rowing experience to the position. He also brings a myriad of teaching experience as a former boating safety instructor at the CSUS Aquatic Center. While at the Aquatic Center, Baker taught introductory classes in rowing, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and kayaking.
Baker looks to build off the momentum of last year's varsity season under coach Jones. Having rowed for Jones, Baker looks to unite the rowing styles of the varsity and novice programs and bring with it the success of last year's varsity crew. Baker looks to fulfill the next step in ushering in a new era of rowing at LMU that Jones began in 2006 by bringing success at the novice level and rounding out the success of the men's program as a whole in 2007.
A 2006 graduate of Mechanical Engineering at LMU, Baker is also working on his Master's of Science in Aerospace Engineering at UCLA.
