Women's Crew Finishes Third at Head of American

GOLD RIVER, Calif. - The Gonzaga University women's rowing Varsity 8+ placed third at the Head of American race that took place in Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif., Saturday morning. The race, which was hosted by Sacramento State University, was a three-mile course with a time trial start format. Stanford A won the race in a time of 17:08, followed by University of California at 17:16 and Gonzaga one-second behind at 17:17.

The Bulldog Varsity 8+ consisted of Coxswain Joan Aubry, Nicole Aadland-Lewis, Whitney Engle, Katie Atkins, Teagan Towhey, Cory Nelson, Hanna McClintock, Kelly Steinhaus and Kelsey Koening.

Gonzaga's men and women will be at the Head of the Lake at the Montlake Cut in Seattle on Nov. 12.
