WAIPAHU, Hawaii - Lauren Tweet nodded home the game-winning goal with 2:11 remaining in regulation as USF won its third game in the last four contests, a 2-1 win over Cornell in Hawaii.
After a scoreless first half, Alison McKeown scored in the 71st minute to give Cornell a 1-0 lead. McKeown's goal came off a corner kick from Jessica Snyder than found McKeown in the box, and the senior finished from eight yards out.
The lead was short-lived, however, as the Dons equalized eight minutes later. Off a corner kick, a header from the Chelsea Hunt found the post, but caromed off to Fiona O'Sullivan, who knocked in the rebound for her fifth goal in the last four games.
San Francisco scored the game winner off yet another corner kick, as Hilary Fisher won the header off the corner and knocked the ball across the box to Lauren Tweet, whose header found the back of the net.
A physical match, the game was marked by 31 fouls and three cautions, and the Dons outshot Cornell 21-10. The Dons who face Hawaii Sunday improved to 3-4 on the year while Cornell dropped to 1-4-1 on the year.
