STANFORD, CALIF. - San Francisco (0-6-2) sophomore forward Jenny Jarvie scored her first goal of the season in a 3-1 loss to No. 4 Stanford (8-1-0) Friday evening. Jarvie's goal off a penalty kick in the 59th minute.
Cardinal senior midfielder Shari Summers recorded her fourth and fifth goals of the season in the match. Her first score came in the 4th minute following a foul by the Dons which also resulted in a penalty kick. Summer then executed a free shot that swished the upper left corner of the net at 35:52.
Off a pass from sophomore forward Kelley O'Hara, junior defender Allison Falk topped off the Cardinal night with a header goal in the 87th minute. Overall, Stanford outshot the Dons 16 - 4. Along with Jarvie, junior midfielder Katherine Kimure, freshman midfielder Kelsey Shibuya and freshman forward Elizabeth Van Buskirk each attempted a shot.
San Francisco junior goalkeeper Katie Hodgson played all 90-minutes in the match, making four saves. Cardinal freshman goalkeeper Kira Maker was forced to make one.
San Francisco opens it's 2007 home schedule against Cal State Bakersfield this Sunday at 1 p.m. PT.
