Spokane, Wash. - Lori Conrad's goal during the final minute of the second overtime period lifted the Gonzaga University women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over visiting Pepperdine University at Martin Field in Spokane during the final match of the 2007 season. The victory marked the Bulldogs 12th victory of the season, tying the school record for victories in a season.
The Bulldogs finish the season 12-7-1 overall, 3-4-0 in West Coast Conference play. The loss dropped Pepperdine to 5-8-6, 2-4-1 against league opponents. The 12 victories ties a program high that was set in 2005 when the Zags posted a 12-4-4 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
Conrad scored the game-winning goal - her second career goal - at 109:02. Nanda McCormick took a shot, which rebounded off of the Waves' goalkeepers fingers, before Conrad knocked in the winning goal.
The match was evenly played for a majority of the afternoon but Gonzaga finished with an 18-11 shot advantage. The Bulldogs also finished with a 6-4 corner kick edge.
The Zags' goalkeeper Lauren Ames earned the victory, posting four saves during the shutout. Pepperdine's Kayla Stolte suffered the loss after posting eight saves.
