Amy Epsten Tabbed as Union Tribune Female Athlete of the Year for Soccer

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego junior forward Amy Epsten of the women's soccer team was named the Union Tribune Female Athlete of the Year for soccer.

Epsten, a 5-6 junior from San Diego, finished the season by tying the program record for single-season goals with a West Coast Conference-best 14, and she added in one assist for 29 points. With her 14 goals this season, Epsten became the new all-time career leader in goals scored with 30, breaking an 11-year old record held by Michele Kennedy (1993-96). Epsten was named the WCC Player of the Week once this season and was selected first-team All-WCC. She also raked in All-West Region honors by Soccerbuzz Magazine.
