Lernor Named Jewish Sports Review All-American

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Sophomore defender Amanda Lernor has been named a First Team All-American by the Jewish Sports Review. The Scottsdale, Ariz. native started all 19 games and helped lead the Lions to the NCAA Tournament. The outside back also contributed two assists in 2006.

Lenor was one of the anchors of LMU's defense in 2006, helping the Lions to a team goals against average of 0.681 (26th in the country). She also added assists against San Jose State and Utah Valley State.

The Lions had an outstanding season in 2006, finishing with a 10-3-6 record overall and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in program history. LMU finished fourth in the challenging West Coast Conference, earning a 2-1-4 record against conference opponents. The Lions picked up big wins against NCAA Tournament teams Oklahoma State, USC and Oakland, and tied WCC foes Portland, Santa Clara and Pepperdine.
