SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- A record 15 West Coast Conference soccer matches will be televised nationally in 2012, including a pivotal West Coast Conference showdown between Portland and San Diego on ESPNU October 19.

The Portland-San Diego match pits perennial WCC powers in a showdown that could feature WCC title implications. The match will air at 7 p.m. PT on ESPNU from USD's Torero Stadium, host to the 2012 NCAA Women's College Cup. The last time ESPNU cameras were at Torero Stadium, San Diego downed Santa Clara to win a share of the 2011 WCC women's soccer title.

The first national telecast of 2012 will come on the season's opening night, as Santa Clara plays at Stanford on the Pac-12 Network August 17. That battle of preseason Top 25 teams is the first of seven WCC women's soccer on the new network this fall. FOX Soccer will return to Provo in October, when BYU hosts Texas on October 6.

In addition, BYUtv will also televise six BYU women's soccer matches, including a pair of WCC matches (San Francisco on Oct. 11 and Gonzaga on Oct. 19).
