LMU Women's Soccer Posts 2-0 Exhibition Win at UC Irvine

First-half goals from junior Stefanie Baduria and senior Jamie Bell paced LMU to a 2-0 victory at UC Irvine Thursday night in an exhibition match at Anteater Stadium.

The Lions made the most of their two first-half shots, converting both opportunities. LMU got on the board at the 28:31 mark in the first half with some nifty play inside the box. Senior Katie Osborne and freshman Lily Sorentino linked up befor Baduria got free to knock the ball past the keeper.

Bell made it 2-0 five minutes later, picking up where she left off last year. Bell capitalized on a misplay by the keeper as she scored on an open net to put the Lions up 2-0.

The two teams played a scoreless second half as senior keeper Joslyn Slovek had five saves for LMU while earning a shutout. Erin Henry and Danille De Seriere each spent time in the net for the Anteaters.

LMU opens its 2007 regular season on Friday, August 31 at UC Santa Barbara at 7 p.m. before returning to Sullivan Field for the home opener against Dayton on Sunday, September 2 at 1 p.m.
