San Francisco Drops Exhibtion Match

NOVATO, CALIF. - San Francisco lost to Sacramento State on a goal by Hornet senior Katie McCoy during exhibition play Sunday afternoon at San Marin High School.

McCoy, who registered four shots in the match, scored her game winner from 15-feet out after a breakaway in the second half. USF was unable to score despite outshooting the Hornets, 13-12. Junior Katherine Kimure was credited with a team-high three shots. Senior Fiona O'Sullivan and sophomore Kristina Hall each registered two.

Hornets' goalkeeper Mandy Trojan had six saves on the day while USF junior Katie Hodgson recorded three.

San Francisco opens up the regular season next Sunday at San Jose State. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. PDT.
