Four Top 25 opponents await WCC squads this weekend

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- WCC non-conference action continues this weekend, as West Coast Conference squads will face four Top 25 opponents.

WCC QUICK HITS

  • Three West Coast Conference teams are ranked in this week's NSCAA Top 25 poll: Pepperdine (5), Portland (20), and Santa Clara (24). In addition, San Diego is receiving votes.

  • In a preseason poll, West Coast Conference head coaches have selected Santa Clara to win the 2012 WCC title. The Broncos have recorded two straight shutouts since dropping their opener.

  • A record 15 WCC women's soccer matches will be televised nationally during the 2012 season, including two this weekend. View a complete list via the schedule above.

  • The 2011 season marked the first time since 2005 that the WCC had four teams compete for the College Cup.

  • San Diego's Lexi Deol is the WCC Player of the Week. Deol assisted on the game-winning score in an upset of No. 12 Texas A&M, and she scored the game-winner in USD's comeback 3-2 double overtime win over Minnesota.
