SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The University of San Diego's junior goalkeeper Brittany Cameron was tabbed as the West Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Monday morning.
Cameron, a native of Dublin, Calif., helped guide the Toreros to an upset win over No. 19 Wake Forest University this past Friday in USD's season opener. In this match, Cameron recorded six saves, while allowing one goal on a penalty kick in the 2-1 win. Cameron backed-up that performance with her first shutout of the season in the scoreless draw with No. 22 Duke University. In this match, Cameron allowed no goals and recorded three saves.
Cameron and the Toreros will return to action on Friday as they head to Dayton, Ohio to compete against the University of Dayton in a 4:30 p.m. match. The Toreros will then head to Columbus, Ohio to take on the Buckeyes of Ohio State University on Sunday in a 10 a.m. match.
