Pepperdine's Cole named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has announced its women's soccer Player of the Week award-winner for September 12, 2011.

Pepperdine senior forward Laura Cole led the No. 13 Waves to a 1-0-1 weekend at the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, La. The Whittier, Calif. native scored a goal in both the team's 4-2 win over No. 18 Illinois on Friday and the lone goal in a 1-1 double-overtime tie with host LSU on Sunday. For her efforts, Cole was named Offensive MVP of the LSU Invitational. Overall Cole has scored a goal in each of the team's last three matches. The Waves remain undefeated on the season at 6-0-2.
