RENO, NEV. - San Francisco women's soccer (0-3-2) was defeated 2-0 by Nevada (1-3-1) Sunday afternoon as shots by Wolfpack sophomore defender Devin Noe and Samantha Miller found the back of the net. The Dons were led by senior forward Fiona O'Sullivan, who attempted two shots.
Coming at the 22nd minute, Noe hit a long range shot following passes from senior midfielder Blaine Dugan and junior midfielder Jessica Thompson. Junior midfielder Miranda Montejo lobed a pass to Miller, who was behind two USF defenders, for her goal at 45:44.
Junior goalkeeper Anika Steig got the start Sunday for the Dons. The Seattle, Wash., native recorded four saves on the afternoon.
USF will travel to compete at the Duke Tournament this upcoming Friday and Sunday versus the host Duke Blue Devils and the North Carolina Tar Heels, two of the nation's Top-25 teams. Kickoff for Friday's match is set for 4:30 p.m. PT, while Sunday's match will start at 10 a.m. PT.
