SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Junior goalkeeper Brittany Cameron was named to Soccerbuzz's National Team of the Week, after helping lead the 25th-ranked University of San Diego women's soccer team to back-to-back shutouts this past weekend.
Cameron, who hasn't allowed a goal in 207:47, helped lead the Toreros to an impressive 0-0 tie with No. 6 UCLA on Friday. In that math, Cameron recorded a season-high eight saves on 24 shots faces. Cameron then backed that performance up with a four save outing in Sunday's 1-0 win over Cal Poly. Cameron currently leads the West Coast Conference in all major goalkeeper statistics, saves (31), shutouts (4) and goals-against-average (0.46).
Cameron and the 25th-ranked Toreros will return to the pitch on Friday as they head to UC Irvine for a 7 p.m. match. San Diego will then conclude another road swing on Sunday with a trip to UC Riverside to take on the Highlanders in a 1 p.m. match.
