Waves' Payetta is WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has named its women's soccer Player of the Week for October 1, 2012.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CALLIE PAYETTA, SR., F, PEPPERDINE

Pepperdine senior forward Callie Payetta is the West Coast Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week. Payetta scored the lone goal of the match - also her fifth career game-winner - to lift the Waves to a 1-0 upset of No. 5 Boston College Saturday in Massachusetts. Payetta scored the match's lone tally in the 48th minute. It was the first goal of the season for the Huntington Beach native. Payetta and the Waves play Monday at Dartmouth.
