SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego Athletic Department is proud to announce the addition of men's and women's home soccer matches to the list of sports to be broadcast on the internet free of charge. Stretch Internet is providing the web space allowing the two fall sports to live on the air.
Broadcasting the two events will be freshmen David Bardecki and Lovel Tokic. Bardecki and Tokic will be live on the internet for a short pre-game and post game recap of the match, and each audio broadcast will be archived if fans missed the match.
In order to hear the broadcast, fans just need to simply click on the "Live" button on the USD athletics home page, sign up for a "free account," then click on the women's soccer tab and choose the match to listen to.
Stretch Internet, based in Mesa, Ariz., provides streaming and other Internet services to more than 150 high schools, colleges, universities, professional teams and radio stations while reaching an audience of more than 50,000 users per month. Founded in 2002 by a former college sports information director, Stretch Internet is devoted to customer service and providing a first-class, high quality experience for its clients and their extended communities.
The inaugural broadcast will be on Sunday, October 7 approximately 15 minutes prior to the 7:00 p.m. kickoff as the men face No. 3 Santa Clara University Broncos. The first women's match will be broadcast on Sunday, October 14 at approximately 1:00 p.m. against No. 2 Santa Clara University.
