Pepperdine's Cole earns WCC honors for second time

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has announced its women's soccer Player of the Week award-winner for October 10, 2011.

Cole earns her second WCC Player of the Week honor this season after helping to lead the Waves to two conference victories in this first weekend of WCC action. On Thursday at home against San Diego, Cole netted her fourth goal of the season and the lone goal in the victory to lead the Waves to a 1-0 win. The win was the first conference opener victory for the Waves since 2005 and the first time the team has beaten the Toreros since 2006. On Saturday at BYU, Cole assisted on Lynn Williams' goal in the second minute of action for a 1-0 victory on the road. With six points, the Waves remain atop the WCC standings.
