No. 12 Santa Clara travels to Portland Friday

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --Pepperdine remains unbeaten in 2011, and the Waves are ranked No. 4 nationally. Meanwhile, Santa Clara is No. 12 in this week's NSCAA Top 25 coaches poll after picking up four points at home last weekend. The Broncos travel to Portland on Friday to face the defending WCC champ Pilots in a match that will be televised nationally on ESPNU.

WCC QUICK HITS

  • Santa Clara is unbeaten in its last seven matches after playing to a scoreless draw against BYU and blanking San Francisco, 5-0, in two matches last week.

  • San Diego senior Stephanie Ochs was named the WCC Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday.

  • Pepperdine senior midfielder Karissa Garcia netted the game-winning goal in the Waves' 2-0 win at rival Loyola Marymount -- their first since 1996. It was Garcia's second career goal.

  • BYU senior goalkeeper McKinzie Olson became the Cougars all-time career saves leader with 265. She collected ten saves over two road matches (a win and a tie) last week.

  • Portland sophomore forward Kaila Cameli notched a hat trick as the Pilots out-gunned Saint Mary's, 7-4, on Sunday. Cameli's three tallies were her first career scores.

  • Santa Clara freshman forward Sofia Huerta scored twice in a 5-0 blanking of San Francisco. Huerta has scored seven goals in 2011 -- all over the team's last four matches.
