SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has named its Women's Soccer Player of the Week for October 28, 2013.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ALLY HOLTZ, JR., F, PEPPERDINE
Pepperdine jnuior Ally Holtz is the West Coast Conference Player of the Week. Holtz had a total of three goals -- including both game-winners -- and an assist in Pepperdine's home victories against Pacific and Saint Mary's. The Waves lost the WCC's top scorer, Lynn Williams, to injury late in the first half of a scoreless game vs. Pacific on Friday. Holtz was the member of the Waves that stepped up most in her absence. Tied 1-1, Holtz notched the game-winning goal in the 86th minute for a 2-1 victory over the Tigers. On Sunday, Holtz assisted on the Waves' first goal, then scored the second and third in a 3-1 victory over the Gaels.
Holtz entered the week having scored twice, but now has totals of five goals and four assists for 14 points.
