McCormick, Drollinger Honored For Academics

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University junior forward Nanda McCormick was a second-team selection and senior defender Beth Drollinger a third-team pick on the ESPN The Magazine College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District VIII All-Academic women's soccer team announced Thursday.

McCormick, a native of Seattle, Wash., has a 3.30 GPA in business administration while Drollinger, who hails from Yakima, Wash., has a 3.60 GPA in civil engineering.

McCormick, playing just her second season of soccer after beginning her collegiate career at Gonzaga as a member of the basketball team, leads the team and is tied for seventh in the West Coast Conference in goals with seven. She also leads the team and is tied for eighth in the WCC in points with 16. She has five match-winning goals this season and five in her career.

Drollinger leads the team in assists with four and is second on the all-time Gonzaga career assists list with nine. She has started 76-of-77 career appearances, sitting out one match this season with an injury and coming off the bench her next match back. The Yakima, Wash., native has helped Gonzaga record a 0.96 GAA this season and was a defensive stalwart last season as Gonzaga set a school record with a 0.76 GAA. She was a second-team All-West Coast Conference and third-team All-West Region pick as a junior last year in helping Gonzaga to its inaugural NCAA College Cup appearance
