Eight WCC Players Earn Academic honor.

Eight West Coast Conference women's soccer players were named to the ESPN The Magazine/College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District VIII All-Academic teams, it was announced Thursday.

Gonzaga University and Loyola Marymount University led the way for the WCC, each landing three players on the All-Academic teams.

Gonzaga senior midfielder Lauren Zuckerman and Santa Clara University sophomore forward Kiki Bosio were selected to the first team. Gonzaga sophomore goalkeeper Jessie Thalman and senior forward Christine Soma were named to the second team. LMU's Joslyn Slovek, Kim Feeney, and Katie Osborne were joined on the All-Academic third team by the University of Portland's Angie Woznuk.

CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) selects Academic All-America teams in 12 programs: football, women's volleyball, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's track & field/cross country, women's track & field/cross country, men's at-large and women's at-large. A first team, second team and third team are selected in both the University and College Division. To be nominated, the student-athlete must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for his or her career.
