Three Portland Women's Soccer Players Recognized as Academic All-Americans

TOWSON, Md. - Three University of Portland women's soccer players have been selected to the 2010 ESPN Academic All-America teams. Senior back Jessica Tsao garnered first team accolades for the second consecutive season - the only student-athlete named to the ESPN Academic All-America First Team in back-to-back seasons. Tsao was joined by Portland teammates Elli Reed and Danielle Foxhoven on the University Division Academic All-America teams.

Tsao is a biology major who carries a 3.97 grade point average. On the pitch, Tsao was named the 2010 West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year. She was recently named a national finalist for the Lowe's Senior CLASS award.

Elli Reed was named to the ESPN Academic All-America Second Team. Reed maintains a 3.71 GPA as a sociology major, and the senior back was an All-West Coast Conference first team selection. Junior forward Danielle Foxhoven garnered ESPN Academic All-America Third Team honors. Foxhoven maintains a 3.42 GPA as a business major, while tying for the team lead in goals scored with eight.

The ESPN Academic All-America Team is selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
