Feeney Named Freshman All-American

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Defender Kim Feeney was named a Freshman All-American by Soccer Buzz, the magazine recently announced. It is Feeney's second post-season honor by Soccer Buzz, which also named her to the West Region All-Freshman team. Feeney had an outstanding rookie season, helping to lead the Lions to the NCAA Tournament and earned fourth team Freshman All-American honors.

Feeney was one of the anchors of LMU's defense in 2006, helping the Lions to a team goals against average of 0.681 (26th in the country). She had an outstanding freshman season, playing every minute of every game. The San Ramon, CA, native was a third team All-Freshman selection by Top Drawer Soccer, and also earned WCC Honorable Mention and All-Freshman team honors.

The Lions had an outstanding season in 2006, finishing with a 10-3-6 record overall and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in program history. LMU finished fourth in the challenging West Coast Conference, earning a 2-1-4 record against conference opponents. The Lions picked up big wins against NCAA Tournament teams Oklahoma State, USC and Oakland, and tied WCC foes Portland, Santa Clara and Pepperdine.
