Lions Fall to Tigers

March 3, 2007

Box Score

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The LMU softball team fell to Memphis, 3-0, in its first game of the University of San Diego tournament. Since the tournament was running behind schedule by several hours, LMU's second game of the day against UTEP was cancelled. LMU will face UTEP on Sunday at noon in tournament action.

The game remained scoreless until the fifth inning. Two errors and a stolen base allowed Memphis to take a one run lead. A single and a two-run home run gave the Tigers the 3-0 advantage in the sixth.

LMU's (13-10) offense couldn't get anything going. The Lions were limited to just two hits in the game. Kirsten Slouber and Kylie Conroy were the only Lions to get a hit in today's game.

Dykema allowed two earned runs on four hits with five strikeouts and two walks.

The Lions return to tournament action on Sunday as they will take on UTEP and UC Riverside. LMU has faced both of these opponents earlier this season, recording a win over UTEP, and splitting a doubleheader with UCR on Wednesday.
