The University of San Diego softball team opens their home season on Thursday, February 15 with a single game against Cal-State San Marcos. Since 1994, USD has a 7-6 record in home openers and looks to improve on that record against CS San Marcos.
The Toreros are coming off of a 1-2 start this past weekend at the UC Riverside Invitational tournament where they posted losses to host UC Riverside and San Jose State, and had a 9-0 victory over Northern Colorado.
San Diego is hitting .304 as a team with Nichole Valenzuela leading the team with .625 average. Danielle Treiber is second with a .500 average. Defensively, Jennifer Ellenbeck is 1-0 on the season with two appearances.
First pitch for the Toreros is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. from the USD Softball Complex.
