Friday's Games at the NIST-Twin Creeks Tournament Rained Out

March 10, 2006

Sunnyvale, Calif. - All Friday games at the 20th Annual National Invitational Softball Tournament have been rained out and will be rescheduled for Saturday, March 11. Santa Clara was on deck to battle Colorado State at 3 p.m. and No. 6 California at 5 p.m., but will now play them on Saturday. The Broncos will face off with the Rams at 11 a.m., while the game with the Golden Bears follows at 1 p.m. All contests will be held at the Global Sports Twin Creeks Sports Complex in Sunnyvale, Calif.

A strong cell of storms passed through the area around 11:30 a.m. PST in which rain and hail fell made the playing surfaces unplayable. The fields were already wet after rain Thursday evening.

Santa Clara enters Saturday's games with an overall record of 7-12, after a 9-0 loss to No. 10 Arizona State Thursday afternoon.
