LOS ANGELES, Calif. - For the fourth time in five weeks, an LMU pitcher has been named the PCSC Pitcher of the Week. This week, Tiffany Pagano earned the honor for the second time. She finished the week with a 1.27 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 11.0 innings.
Pagano started the week with 4.0 shutout innings in the 10-0 five inning win over Dakota Wesleyan. She struck out eight in the win and allowed just three singles. She did not walk a batter to earn the win.
She followed that up with another strong performance, allowing two earned runs on five hits with 11 strikeouts in 7.0 innings to lead the Lions to a 4-2 win over Tennessee-Martin.
For the week, she was 2-0 with a 1.27 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 11.0 innings.
It is the second straight week that an LMU pitcher has earned the conference's weekly honor, as Melissa Dykema was named the PCSC Pitcher of the Week for the second time last week.
Pagano and Dykema have made a strong case for next week's pitching honor. Both recorded double digit strikeouts in LMU's two shutouts of Miami (OH) yesterday.
The Lions return to action on Friday and Saturday, hosting Canisius for two doubleheaders starting at noon at Smith Field.
