Moraga, CA - Molly Bergeson (Cleveland, IL) continued to lead Saint Mary's to its resurgent season and her big week earned her Pacific Coast Softball Conference Player of the Week honors. She led the team in several offensive categories including batting average (.588), hits (10), runs (five) and stole bases (three). She also had two runs batted in over the weekend. Bergeson had at least one hit in six of the Gaels' seven games last week and had four multi-hit games on the week. She was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two stolen bases in an 8-1 win over Northern Colorado, and also added three hits in a loss to Purdue.
Bergeson has been a big part of the Gaels offense since transferring to Saint Mary's from Bradley. The junior leftfielder has recorded double digit hits in back-to-back weeks. She leads team with a .425 average and 34 hits. She has recorded seven stolen bases on the season.
Bergeson is the second Gael this season to earn the honor. Lauren Mello was named PCSC Player of the Week earlier this season.
