SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Senior Christina Haake became the first pitcher in 2007 from the University of San Diego to earn Pacific Coast Softball Conference Pitcher of the Week after a dominating performance this past weekend.
Haake picked up a win in her lone outing in a 1-0 victory over Brown. She pitched a complete game and allowed just two hits with one walk and 12 strikeouts. The 12 strikeouts are a new career-high, bettering her previous best of 11 against Siena on Feb. 23. Haake also had a no-hitter through 5 2/3 innings.
Haake and the Toreros open conference play against Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, Calif. The 16-13 Toreros look to better their record against the Lions who are 27-14, this weekend with doubleheaders on Saturday, March 31 at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 1 at noon and 2:00 p.m.
