INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-The NCAA Division I Softball Committee announced the 64-team field on Sunday. BYU will play No. 2 Oregon, an automatic qualifier from the Pac-12 Conference.

Thirty-two conferences were awarded an automatic qualification, while the remaining 32 slots were filled with at-large selections to complete the bracket. The top 16 teams were seeded nationally and will play at campus sites this weekend.

Florida, the defending national champion, was named the No. 1 seed.

Team pairings were determined by geographic proximity, with the exception that teams from the same conference were not paired during regional competition.

Oregon is the Pac-12 champion and is the No. 2 overall seed and will host the Eugene Regional this week at Howe Field, with Fresno State, North Dakota State and BYU in attendance.

BYU is 4-8 all-time against Oregon, and in their last meeting the Cougars defeated the Ducks 6-5, last season in Provo, Utah. The Ducks defeated BYU twice in the 2012 regional and once in the 2013 regional.

The Cougars are one of five schools making their 12th tournament appearance.
