Softball Senior Sara Mason Earns National Honors

University of San Diego senior Sara Mason of the softball team has been honored nationally by ESPN The Magazine being named to the third-team Academic All-America list as voted on by Sports Information Directors from around the United States.

Mason, a catcher for the softball team, graduated in May with a degree in Sociology, and a minor in Spanish and philosophy. Mason held a 3.75 cumulative GPA entering the spring season. She finished the season hitting 44-for-129 (.341) with ten doubles, four triples, one homerun, 22 RBI, and 30 runs scored.

She finishes her career making 182 starts for the Toreros. Mason hit 159-for-503 (.302) with 33 doubles, 12 triples 12 homeruns, 81 RBI, and 79 runs scored.
