Toreros Finish 4th Overall At UC Irvine Relays

IRVINE, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's swimming and diving team finished in fourth place out of eight teams last weekend at the UC Irvine Relays with 245 points. WAC opponent San Jose State (336 points) took first place, host UC Irvine (277 points) finished in second, and Boise State (258 points) finished third.

San Diego's best finish on the day was second in the 3x100 backstroke (Joy Miller, Aileen Fedrick, Kristen Yoon) in a time of 3:07.29. In the 400 medley relay (Yoon, Haley Pittman, Joy Miller, Justine Bartos) the "A" squad finished third overall with a time of 4:06.39.

The Toreros captured a pair of fourth place finishes. One in the 4x200 Free Relay (Sarah Gleason, Erin Voyles, Katie Kiefer, Yoon) with a time of 8:06.17. The other in the 4x50 free relay event (Bartos, Laura Pope, Kiefer, Kristina Levesque), with a time of 1:43.70.

The Toreros will wrap up their home schedule on Wednesday, January 9 at noon at the USD Swim Complex. The senior day ceremony will take place prior to the start of the meet.
