SAN DIEGO, Calif. -The University of San Diego women's swimming & diving team sent their seniors out on a high note at the last home meet of the season as they posted a huge victory over the Boise State University Broncos with a 177-123 win.
The meet was a four-team three-way dual that included Colorado State and San Diego State. San Diego only faced Boise State. The Broncos also faced The Aztecs, while the Aztecs took on Colorado State.
The diving team took the lead for USD as Amy Bogart and Monica Oddo took first and second in head-to-head competition against Boise in the 1 meter diving competition. Bogart, Oddo, and Adelaide Bednarski swept the top three places in the 3 meter diving competition.
Senior Joy Miller swam to top finishes in head-to-head competition against BSU. She had a first place finish in the 200 yard butterfly in a time of 2:09.59. She picked up another first place finish in the 100 yard butterfly in 1:00.55, and finished second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:44.09. Teammate and fellow senior Claire Altenau led her 400 yard freestyle relay "B" squad to a second place finish with a 3:45.37 time.
Kristen Yoon picked up two first place finishes, one in the 100 yard backstroke (59.64) and the other in the 200 yard backstroke (2:08.71). Erin Voyles had a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle (1:57.12), while Kristina Levesque rounded out the top finishes with a first place time of 25.39 in the 50 yard freestyle.
The USD swimming and diving team returns to the water on Friday, January 18 at 3:00 as they take on crosstown rival UC San Diego Tritons at Canyonview Aquatic Center.
