San Diego, CA - San Diego traveled to cross-town rival University of California-San Diego to take on the Tritons Saturday afternoon, losing 170-120. With six 1st place finishes and seven 2nd place finishes in the meet, the Toreros were not able to find the points for a victory.
San Diego's 400 freestyle relay teams' finished in 1st and 2nd place, with times of 3:37.19 (Peter, Cobourn Voyles, Swart) and 3:55.99 (Altenau, Draa, Reyes, Jafari).
Individually for the Toreros, senior Ashley Swart finished with three 1st place marks. In the 100 breaststroke she had a 1:05.16, she finished the 200 breaststroke with a 2:21.31, and her 500 freestyle time was 5:06.02.
Sophomore Joy Miller had one 1st place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:14.79, and two 2nd place finishes in the 100 butterfly, 1:00.46, and the 200 butterfly, 2:09.52.
Senior Ashley Rose finished with two 2nd place finishes with a time of 24.44 in the 50 freestyle, and a 2:13.97 in the 200 backstroke.
Freshman Ashley Frederickson took 2nd place in the first round of diving scoring 175.13 points. Freshman Erin Voyles also captured a first place in the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:57.05, and sophomore Anna Fambrini took 2nd place in 2:28.03 in the 200 individual medley.
The Toreros have some time off before they take on the San Diego State Aztecs on February 4 at the Ray and Joan Kroc Aquatics center starting at 12:00 pm.
