SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego dropped a disappointing loss to their crosstown rival UC San Diego Tritons, 176-124, Friday afternoon.
Sarah Gleason finished with a solid first place finish in the 1650 yard freestyle (17:58.05) and a second place finish in the 500 yard freestyle (5:15.68). Teammate Katherine Kiefer followed in second place in the 1650 with a time of 18:26.65.
Kristen Yoon showed well as she had a first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke (1:00.88) and a second place finish in the 200 yard backstroke (2:11.86). Joy Miller had three second place finishes in her events. Her 200 butterfly finish had a time of 2:07.97, her 100 butterfly time was 58.58, and her 200 yard individual medley time was 2:13.91.
The diving team of Amy Bogart, Adelaide Bednarski, and Monica Oddo had a solid performance in the 1 meter event sweeping the top three places. Bogart scored a 234.50 capturing first place. Bednarski took second place scoring a 229.98, and Oddo took third place with 225.46. Bogart also took first place in the 3 meter diving event with a score of 226.50.
The Toreros return to the water on Saturday, January 26 as they travel to Los Angeles to take on the Lions of Loyola Marymount.
