Malibu, Calif. - 12 of Saturday's 14 races as well as the two diving events were won by Pepperdine (1-1), who bested visiting Cal Poly by a 206-93 margin. Freshmen Kady Skora, Michelle Sutherland and Erin Kephart each won two events for the Waves.
Junior Chelsea Zink also claimed first place twice. In the 200 back her 2:13.46 was good enough for first as was her 1:02.98 in the 100 butterfly.
Skora took the 1000 free in 10:53.08 early in the day and came back later to claim first in the 500 free in 5:17.34.
Kephart won both breaststroke events with times of 1:01.13 in the 100 and 2:27.34 in the 200.
Sutherland earned the Waves nine points in both the 200 fly as well as the 200 IM. Her 2:15.80 bested teammate Samantha Orange's second place in the 200 fly and her 200 IM time of 2:16.68 edged out Lauryn Velarde's 2:18.82.
Pepperdine's other top finisher was Ketrina Lemmen with a first place in the 100 back (1:01.13). Once again Lindsay Stephens claimed diving honors with scores of 241.75 from the one meter board and 244.55 in three meter competition.
The Waves look to continue their success on Friday as they take on Loyola Marymount and San Diego State this Friday at LMU.
